Aims and Fit of Module

The aim of the module is to advance students’ knowledge in water resources engineering including the main systems, unit operations and processes in urban wastewater treatment, and their principles, analysis, process design and operation.

Learning outcomes

A. Identify the main systems and the principles of unit operations and processes in urban wastewater treatment.
B. Analyse unit operations, processes and design in wastewater treatment.
C. Apply the appropriate models and methods for the process design, calculation and analysis of unit.
D. Assess the impacts of unit processes on the treatment systems and relevant environmental constraints and regulatory framework.
