This course aims to help students whose Chinese language level is equivalent to CEFR A1 to extend their Chinese language and cultural knowledge, so they can deal with communicative situations likely to arise while living, studying and working in China. This course is aiming to bring their Chinese language proficiency to a level equivalent to CEFR A1+.
A Demonstrate understanding of simple everyday topics when spoken in Chinese slowly and clearly B Demonstrate understanding of very short, simple texts in Chinese when allowed to read slowly C Provide simple information orally, ask and answer simple questions on very familiar topics in Chinese D Write simple sentences about very familiar topics in Chinese E Identify very basic aspects of Chinese cultures and societies
Communicative language teaching involves a high level of interaction between teacher and students. Teaching and assessment will revolve around the setting and completion of specified language tasks. Students will have 4 hours per week of integrated skills class, covering reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
