The module aims to give students basic understanding of the key issue in economic policies and their regional, national, or international context. It will equip students with both a factual and theoretical basis to understand and critically evaluate policy or other responses to contemporary social and business needs. Student will have chance to initiate their own research project related to economic policies with the notion of Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability. The module will also develop basic research, report-writing, and presentation skills.
A. Demonstrate an understanding of the responses of government to contemporary business needs or the reaction of other economic units to policies, as well as their rationale with reference to appropriate economic frameworks. B. Develop the research ability to formulate a research question and apply appropriate problem-solving skills to issues in economic policy. C. Critically evaluate and discuss issues in economic policy using relevant theoretical and empirical evidence. D. Demonstrate an understanding of Responsibility, Ethics and Sustainability in economic policy analysis. E. Develop written and verbal communication skills, including presenting analyses, findings, and methodologies to non-expert audiences. F. Demonstrate the ability to appropriately use AI tools to support economic analysis while maintaining independent judgement, critical thinking, and academic integrity.
The lectures will be delivered by a combination of lectures, and tutorials. Lectures are designed to provide essential information and introduce students to the basic tools and concepts in economic policy and related issues. Tutorials will provide students with the opportunity to further develop their learning through the exploration of theoretical and empirical studies and data.
