The aims of this course is to provide an overview of the Chinese economy and discuss the current issues of the Chinese economy.
A. Demonstrate a sound understanding of the historical development of the Chinese economy.
B. Demonstrate knowledge of the processes by which China transitioned to a market economy.
C. Comprehend key trends and processes of economic development in China.
D. Critically analyse current major economic problems in China and to propose potential solutions.
E. Understand the current debates of economic policy in China and be able to derive policy solutions to these debates.
The lectures will be delivered by a combination of lectures, and tutorials.
