This module will introduce the basic ideas and skills in developing, implementing, and evaluating interventional programmes for children and families in educational and other informal learning settings. Different approaches to planning and evaluation will be introduced. Needs assessment, the principles of programme design, as well as the importance of programme theory will be considered. Specifically, criteria for assessing the efficacy, effectiveness and readiness for dissemination of evidence-based programmes will be introduced. It is a practice-oriented module and will also discuss values, assumptions and ethics in programme planning and evaluation.

The teaching sessions are interactive and divided into two components: lectures and tutorials/workshops. The tutorials/workshops will build on the material covered in the lectures.
