Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to provide students with core concepts and ideas about teaching and learning and equip students with the ability to support the learning of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Students, with our without prior teaching experience, will both enhance their knowledge and skills for teaching, learning and assessment after taking this module.

Learning outcomes

A Reflect on different conceptions of learning, teaching and assessment across cultures critically
B Apply a range of teaching methodologies to enhance students’ learning
C Design appropriate learning assessments to measure the learning outcomes

Method of teaching and learning

This module will be delivered by a combination of lectures and tutorials. Lectures will be designed to provide essential information, while tutorials will be designed for reflection on and practice of the information learned in lectures.
