The delivery of this module will focus on enhancing students’ action research skills and pedagogical knowledge and becoming aware of the importance of pedagogical content knowledge. The aim is to provide learning opportunities for them to apply their learned action research method and theoretical knowledge in practice. Hence, the methods of teaching and learning will be delivered in a blended style (i.e., online and in-person) that consist of lectures(including seminars), tutorials, and field practice (i.e., execution of research projects). Students will receive lectures on key theories and concepts of action research, pedagogy, and andragogy. Students will take seminars from experienced teacher-researchers on conducting pedagogical research in subjects such as English, Chinese, and STEM as part of the lecture. The focus is to become aware of the importance of pedagogical content knowledge in teaching and learning. Equally importantly, students will design their own action research projects in teaching and learning and receive specific feedback in tutorial sessions.
