Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to familiarise students with some basic concepts of power electronics and to provide them with the tools to design some basic circuits.

Learning outcomes

A. Understand the switched-mode converter and its basic operating principles.
B. solve the steady-state voltages and currents of step-down, step-up, inverting, and other power converters
C. show the experience and enhancement of the experiment and design skills

Method of teaching and learning

The module is taught through formal lectures, class tutorials and laboratory experiments.
