The aim of this module is to provide students with broad understanding of the nature and determinants of the pattern of international trade, capital flows, and the inter-relations between the two. These topics will be studied with specific focus on the China economy and its major trading partners.
A Understand why countries trade with one another and what determines trade. B Gain knowledge on China trade relations with major partners and the issues involved in it. C Understand the importance exchange rate mechanism in China’s trade. D Have knowledge of role of foreign direct investment (FDI) on China’s trade growth. E The role of national and international institutions in regulating trade and the consequences of trade for a variety of issues including employment.
