The module aims to provide students with an in-depth, real-world experience in a professional environment, allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills gained throughout the MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation program. The module is meticulously crafted to provide a comprehensive learning experience, aligning with the student's selected pathway and fostering innovation via Syntegrative project. Students have the option to secure a Intrapreneur project with an industry partner, facilitated by the university's support, or to independently arrange a self-seeking project, which is contingent upon approval by the Module Leader. This year-long module culminates in a significant industry project that demonstrates the student’s ability to tackle real business challenges and contribute meaningfully to their placement organization.
A Demonstrate a deep understanding of the industrial, operational and strategic challenges faced by the organization in which they are placed, linking theory with practice. B Exhibit proficiency in the synthesis and application of academic and pathway-specific knowledge, enhanced by reflective practice and innovative thinking, to adeptly tackle and resolve complex real-world challenges. C Develop and apply advanced problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills in a real-world setting. D Exhibit professional competencies and growth, including effective communication, teamwork, and ethical decision-making within a business environment.
Intrapreneur Project: The core of this module is the student’s Intrapreneur Project within a company or XEC ecosystem, where they will work on a significant project relevant to their chosen pathway. The project should be scoped in consultation with the industry partner and approved by the Module Leader. • Practical Seminars: Students will attend a series of seminars designed to support their project work, covering topics such as project management, reflective practice, and professional communication. These sessions will provide a forum for discussing progress and challenges faced during the placement. • Mentorship: Students will be individually matched with an academic mentor specializing in pathway knowledge to provide personalized guidance. Concurrently, each group will be assigned a group academic mentor who will concentrate on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship skills. Additionally, students will receive structured support from an industry mentor, who will offer insights into sector-specific trends, practical problem-solving approaches, and networking opportunities. Collectively, these mentors will deliver targeted support throughout the project lifecycle, addressing both individual and group assessment criteria. Students will have regular check-ins with their mentors to discuss their progress and any issues they encounter.
