This module aims to help students find their own, personal creative voice in the art of story-telling. It is practice based and seeks to introduce you to writing for screen – both film and television, highlighting the relationship between the visual medium and the craft of story-telling.
A. Demonstrate understanding of the key dramatic elements for storytelling, such as plot, structure, character, setting, verbal and non-verbal interactions.
B. Demonstrate an understanding of the processes involved in professional screenwriting.
C. Engage with the creative process of writing a short film script.
The lectures and seminars will take place as in the original module specification; in addition there will be 1 additional hour for fieldwork which will take Other (private study) from 111 to 110 hours.
