Aims and Fit of Module

This module is designed to:
Provide a comprehensive grounding in the techniques used by the production department when undertaking the production of a short film
Introduce students to the production processes and paperwork used in the management of a short production

Learning outcomes

A Understand the creative role of a producer in a short film, whether documentary or fiction
B Anticipate and react to production challenges in order to effectively contribute as part of a production department
C Apply the theoretical knowledge gained during the course to create production paperwork

Method of teaching and learning

The teaching sessions are divided into two components (Lectures and seminars).
A series of lectures will equip the students with the knowledge and understanding of production and the production processes.
Seminars will focus on case study work and production management.
