The module aims to introduce students to theories, debates, and concepts of social media, influencers, and short form video social media applications such as TikTok, Douyin, and Instagram. The module builds on the module China and the Digital Revolution to examine the revolutionary social media short form video and utilizes the production skills learnt across the programme.

The teaching sessions are divided into three components (lectures, seminars, and tutorials). Lectures will engage students with syllabus topics. Seminars will be student-led and peer-to-peer learning based. Tutorials will be for presenting and discussing the assessments.
