Aims and Fit of Module

The module is designed to introduce students to the core skills of resilience, adaptability and creativity, necessary to thrive in their discipline and future job markets. It aims to help students identify, develop, and evaluate meaningful solutions to real challenges in social contexts through collaboration on interdisciplinary projects. By emphasizing the importance of analytical, critical, and creative thinking, the module aims to equip students with the ability to think innovatively in pursuit of problem-solving and broader entrepreneurial objectives. This module ensures students: • Use interdisciplinary research skills to understand and engage with societal challenges through the generation of innovative ideas; • Learn strategic problem-solving and adaptability skills, ensuring students are well prepared for the dynamism of future work environments; • Develop project management skills to make structured and informed decisions about complex matters; • Engage with a range of stakeholders, including communities, policymakers, and organizations; and • Develop strong communication skills by effectively articulating ideas and collaborating across various disciplines.

Learning outcomes

A Apply creative, analytical, and critical thinking to design, evaluate, and implement entrepreneurial solutions that tackle societal challenges, ensuring they are innovative, evidence-based, and ethically grounded. Method of teaching and learning

This module introduces entrepreneurship skills and project management as essential tools for students to tackle societal challenges. Using the Explore → Innovate → Transform framework, students will engage in real-world problem-solving, develop adaptable thinking, and gain hands-on experience through interdisciplinary research methods and project management practices. Students will explore social entrepreneurship through a variety of sources: • Lectures: These will introduce students to the key skills, methods, mindset, and knowledge necessary for identifying opportunities and addressing societal problems. Hexie Management Department will assist in the design and delivery of teaching sources and labs projects. • Seminars: Students will have the opportunity to explore and discuss key topics in depth, acquiring critical skills. ALC Tutors will assist on developing writing, speaking, and research skills that enhance students' proficiency in both English and the vernacular of Humanities and Social Science disciplines. • Lab Hours: Students will collaborate in teams on Project-Based Learning, where they will identify challenges, develop social ventures, and evaluate their performance. • Practitioner-Integrated Learning: Engagement with professionals through guest lectures, mentoring, and live case studies will enhance their learning experience.
