Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to cultivate students with an understanding of intelligent human resource management in digitalized era from a strategic perspective, providing students with the most advanced theories, techniques and in-depth analysis to HR practices and i-HRM system, equipping the students with the ability to link HR practices with HR strategy and organization strategy. Through this module, students will learn to design and develop intelligent talent strategy, and to effectually deploy the tools to systematically execute the talent management program.

Learning outcomes

A Demonstrate a critical understanding of the strategic role played by human resource management in digitalized and intelligent era and its key theories and frameworks
B Critically evaluate the potential issues and risks in each aspect of digital talent management, including talent sourcing and placement, development, assessment, retention and succession planning
C Understand a range of techniques and tools to help organizations to achieve the alignment of corporate strategy execution and intelligent human resource practices.

Method of teaching and learning

Based on the philosophy of Syntegrative Education, this module’s delivery pattern follows more intensive block teaching, and allows more meaningful contribution from industry partners. This delivery pattern provides space for students to concentrate on completing the problem-based and project-oriented assessments.
This module will be delivered through a series of key lectures/seminars. In addition, students will be required to analyze a number of cases, determining what worked and why.
