Aims and Fit of Module

Technologies as a driving force for changes and innovations in today’s organizations, this module will examine what digital transformation in human resources means, what it entails, and the challenges that businesses face in enabling this transformation in HR. This module will prepare students to lead and engage in the implementation process and adopt technology whenever appropriate at its peak, optimally. Students will learn about the benefits of HR digital transformation and the latest technologies applied to HR practices, such as AI, Big data/Business intelligence, robotic process automation (RPA) and people analytic. Students will explore the steps to build and implement a digital transformation strategy. This will allow students to have a deep understanding of how to initiate, complete and keep moving forward with the vital digital transformation project.

Learning outcomes

A Demonstrate a critical understanding of how to utilize data analytics, including data sources and collection methods, as well as technology, to make informed talent and business decisions B Comprehend the representative approaches to identify and solve business challenges related to digital HRM in various organizational contexts. C Employ the emerging tools that are required to assist with the digital transformation of HR practices at organisational, functional, and individual level

Method of teaching and learning

Based on the philosophy of Syntegrative Education, this module’s delivery pattern follows more intensive block teaching, and allows more meaningful contribution from industry partners. This delivery pattern provides space for students to concentrate on completing the problem-based and project-oriented assessments. This module will be delivered through a series of key lectures/seminars. This module provides in-depth overviews of the key trends, issues, and methods involved in strategically implementing digital HR. Drawing on real-world case studies and recent research, student will discover effective digital HR adoption strategies and develop the technological capabilities needed to enhance employee management and productivity.
