Aims and Fit of Module

The module provides students with a basic understanding of different concepts and approaches to international relations and international affairs, introducing them to the most important actors in international politics, and familiarising them with some major issues in contemporary international relations.

Learning outcomes

A. Identify basic theories of international relations and apply them to explain and understand global affairs events, trends, and phenomena B. Identify the main actors and most important recent developments in global politics and international relations. C. Use appropriate research and academic skills. D. Produce academic writing which is appropriate for the discipline. E. Simulate decision-making at the global and regional level
