Aims and Fit of Module

The aim of this Year 1 module is to prepare students to study on Internet of Things and its related engineering and computer science areas. The module teaches students about the basic concepts of general engineering and computer science knowledge. Students will learn about various aspects of knowledge and skills used in Internet of Things. Students will have experience in how to use IoT devices.

Method of teaching and learning

This module is designed as a semester-long module considering teaching patterns for Year-1 students. A combination of lectures and tutorials will be leveraged to enable the learning of academic content. Problems and in-class interaction are embedded within lectures in order to check their knowledge of the lecture material. Students will use IoT devices in tutorials for their hands-on experience. The assessment is made up of two coursework. The coursework will evaluate general engineering, computer science, and IoT knowledge as well as practical skills with IoT devices.
