To provide students with the ability to: Understand various engineering optimisation problems. Learn various optimisation methods. Select appropriate optimisation methods to deal with a specific engineering optimisation problem. Develop code to resolve an optimisation problem. Gain their own knowledge of optimization subjects for further development.
A. Use optimization methods for system analysis and modelling. B. Apply optimization methods to practical problems. C. Use optimization algorithm development to achieve industrial and engineering optimisation solution. D. Resolve the basic engineering optimization problems using a variety of programming, design and simulation tools.
This module will be delivered through a combination of formal lectures, tutorials and supervised laboratory sessions.
