Aims and Fit of Module

To equip students with tools to analyse inter-related circuits and with the understanding of the nature of electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields, which are important to engineering and applications.

Learning outcomes

A. Understand the operation principles and applications of electrical and electronic circuits B. Understand the Electrostatics and Magnetostatics theories needed in microelectronic science and engineering C. Analyze the circuits and calculate voltages, currents and powers related knowledges involved D. Perform measurements on the introduced circuits, to analyse and present results, and to provide an interpretation of those results E. Acquire knowledge and understanding of health and safety and risk assessment in lab environments as well as industrial environments

Method of teaching and learning

This module will be delivered by a combination of formal lectures and laboratory work.
