Learning outcomes

This module aims to inspire students to be familiar with some essential digital sub-systems in intelligent robotics, as an important part of robotics-related knowledge and technology. This module also aims to develop other skills including self-study, engineering-related problem-solving, fundamental system design, and oral communication skills.

Method of teaching and learning

This module will be delivered by a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars and labs. Seminar: This is an introductory session to deliver the relationship between Robotics and other engineering subjects, and its application in the real world. Lectures: The lecture will provide the knowledge and basic working principle about the application of Robotics-related subsystems, especially the digital system. Furthermore, some detailed knowledge such as system design and fundamental programming skills will be provided based on some industrial products. Tutorial: Students will exercise the design and programming skills in the class. Labs: The lab will provide the student with practice-based learning about the digital system based on industrial products. A basic comprehensive project will be provided to the students to let them design, construct, test, and evaluate the system.
